I think the good point about Sanjay’s speech is that he speaks with clear voice. That makes his speech easier to understand for me. Moreover, he talks without notes. Because of these points, he seems to have a lot of confidence. However, his speech has room for further improvement. First, his way of speaking is boring. He needs to change his tone of voice. Next, He doesn’t make eye contact with the audiences. If his eye contact is effective, he can keep the audiences’ attention.

I think Sanjay’s speech is boring. He only talked about the facts about him. Too many facts or events really bore me down, so I think it’s better to focus not only on the bare facts, but to think deeper and concentrate on one or two of them.

  3. Kaho Mochida T2 November 16, 2015 at 14:44 #

I think his speech is a little boring. He said what he would talk at first, so my attention was not payed. He should talk interesting things which make audiences laughing. And he wasn’t seem to enjoy his speaking himself. He should have a spence of humor.

I enjoyed his speech very much. His speech gave us a lot of information about him in mostly chronological order. I knew what he used to be and what he is now. I think that giving a speech in order to let an audience grasp easily is one of the key factors, I mean, not only using easy speaking tone and speed, confidence, eye contact, and some other technique related to speaking itself, but also using some skills about organising. For example, it is important using the word like ‘first’ or ‘second’, appropriate connexion words, speaking in chronological order, and so on.
However he is too nervous and all he can do is just speak in front of his audience. He did not catch any attention from them. So if he should care both, I mean, if he also spoke confidently, his speech would be much better.

I think his speech was good in that he focused on how he became outgoing. It is much more interesting than focusing on his character at present, because the audience can tell what kind of person he is just by listening to his speech. However, I thought he should make his speech more interesting to keep the audience interested in the speech. For example, he should tell jokes or tell interesting stories about himself.

I admire Sanjay because he continued speaking for five minutes about his life without stopping. His fluent speaking is terrific. But his monotone voice and gesture bored me. I did not enjoy listening to his speech very much. I want him to improve face impression and strong voice in order to pay audience’s attention.

Sanjay was speaking in a big voice and seemed confident during his speech. I think it is a good point. However, his speech bored me, because he talked too many things in a short time, and kept speeking in the same tone. I think he should focus on one or two things, and speak with intonation. Also, saying something interesting would be useful to improve his speech.

The good points of sanjjays speech is that his voice is loud and it’s easy to listen to him. I also liked how he appeared confident. I think the speech was easy to understand how sangys personality was formed but a little boring. He needs more variety in his speaking tone and facial expressions. Maybe more jokes would do good too.

  10. Rei Osada t2 November 16, 2015 at 19:50 #

What I like about his speech is that he spoke with remembering his memory, not just memorizing. Because of this, when he is remembering, I also imagined what he was thinking. Additionally, he accented in important points, and always used jestures. These points attracted me, and I concentrated on his talking.

  11. Shunsuke Sasaki T2 November 16, 2015 at 19:52 #

The good points of Sanjay’s speech is that his voice was clear so that I can understand the contents of his speech. On the other hand, I felt that his speech had few intonations. So, I was not so interested in his speech even though I could understand what he wanted to say. He should give the speech with more intonations. In addition, I think it is better to try to stimulate audience’s interest. For example,he should make eye contacts with the audience and attract their attention by making exaggerated gestures and facial expressions.

  12. Kumpei Yamamuro T3 November 16, 2015 at 20:01 #

His speech was good in that he delivered it in a strong voice, not in a loud voice. However, I’d say that it wasn’t intriguing at all because what he did was just to enumerate what he had experienced.
For example. I don’t see any connection between driving a car and his character.
I left a harsh comment like this because of the necessity. To tell the truth, I don’t think I have the right to say such things to him, considering my inability to give an impressive speech. Sorry Sanjay.

  13. Miho Kimura T2 November 16, 2015 at 20:03 #

The good points of Sanjay’s speech are that he told many things about him within a few minutes and it is easy to understand. I could understand about him a little through his speech. However, I think it’s better to change his tone of voice and gesture because it was dull and I couldn’t keep my attention.

  14. Yuhi Watanabe T3 November 16, 2015 at 21:39 #

One of the good points of his speech is his voice. He speaks loudly and clearly, so that we can understand what he wants to say easily. Speaking without any scripts is also a good point. It gives us a good impression. But I do not like his pitching and rolling. This movement prevents our concentration.

  15. Ekyo Jo T3 November 16, 2015 at 21:45 #

As a whole impression, his speech was easy to listen. I think that’s because he used many gestures and changed his volume. If we can use our body functions such as eye contact, the volume of our voice or the talking speed effectively, we can draw listner’s attention at the first hand. That’s what I learned from him. As for the content of his speech, it was good to tell the audience what he’s going to talk at first. It will help the listners to understand his intention.

  16. Akane Nakamura T3 November 16, 2015 at 22:37 #

I think the structure of Sanjay’s speech was good, and it was easy for listeners to understand. As a whole, he spoke in strong and confident voice, however, he should emphasize what he thinks is important. Also, he should attract audiences’ in some way. For example, he can talk about his funny story or put pauses.

  17. Anna Kokura T3 November 16, 2015 at 22:42 #

I think his speech was admirable in that he spoke in a loud voice so that the audience could hear him. However, I was a little bored because he kept talking monotonously all the time. I think he should have used more gestures to hold his listeners’ attention.

  18. Emi Ishihara T3 November 16, 2015 at 23:17 #

Sanjay spoke without looking at any notes which was good. Also I was able to understand what he was saying well because he spoke in a voice everyone could hear. Unfortunately his speech was very boring. He had hardly any jokes in his speech and he kept talking on and on about his life. I think he should add more humor to catch the audience’s attention. He should also put more emotions in his voice and face.

  19. Tomoyo Mimura November 17, 2015 at 00:10 #

I thought he used a lot of gestures, and it was nice how he could speak fluently. However, since he was talking about his life in the same tone, I got a little bored. He could have made some changes so that people would find it interesting.

  20. Marina Takeuchi November 17, 2015 at 00:55 #

Sanjjay’s speech was a bit boring one for me. It is because his story of his life was not so interesting. He should have added some concrete episodes from his real experience. However, his way of talking gave me an impression that he was having a confidence, due to his clear deep voice.

  21. Nao Kobayashi T3 November 17, 2015 at 03:54 #

He talked really fluently and he seemed to have confident. The volume of his voice was good, I’m sure everyone was able to hear what he was saying. Also his eye contact was pretty good, he was seeing his audience every time. There was a lot of good things, but I thought he should emphasize the important part of his speech more and talk in a different tone a bit. He should also organize what he wanted to say. If he explain it a little more simply and add colors to his speech by using more adjectives it would be better.

  22. Kota Umeda, T3 November 17, 2015 at 07:20 #

His speech was fluent and good to watch, but I got a little bored though it only lasted for 5 minutes. I did not clearly see what he liked to emphasise because he speaked everything in the same way. Different tones can make the speech better.

  23. Yuki ota t2 November 17, 2015 at 07:44 #

I think that there are room of improvement on his speech. First, he should make eye contact with his audience. He did not look at his audience well and that made his speech a little difficult to listen. The other point is that he should make his speech more simple. He talked about skydiving and so on, but I think he should commit much more important things, such as his really important event which make him decide his future.

  24. Haruno Akizuki T3 November 17, 2015 at 07:54 #

I like the part where he explains what he will be talking about. This way, it is easier for us to understand the whole view of the speech. It helps listeners organize the information and create time for them to re-think what he has said. By watching this video, I also felt that the way he uses the body language is not effective. Hands and the body is always moving constantly. I think it would have been a better speech if he had used it only when he wants to emphasize what he is saying.

  25. Ritsu Takami T2 November 17, 2015 at 08:35 #

I thought his voice was clear and easy to listen. I could catch his words. However, I was bored with the contents of the speech. It’s because that he just tell about his life without any interesting things.

  26. Masaya Miyamoto T2 November 17, 2015 at 08:46 #

i think his speech should be more interesting to audience. It had almost nothing that I could pay attention to. If his style of speaking is changed, he can attract audience. He also used body language. This is good, but he kept taking the same action again and again. This made me so boring that I did not wanted to see anymore; I was tired of the action.

  27. Yuzuna Sato T2 November 17, 2015 at 09:15 #

He spoke in a strong voice, and made eye contact with his audience. But his speech was monotonous, so I wasn’t attracted to his speech. I think that his speech can be better if he do gestures and so on to interest audience.

  28. Noriko Iino T3 November 17, 2015 at 09:27 #

What I think is good about his speech is that he devides his life into three important stages to make his speech easy to understand. But I also think he needs to improve his voice. He should speak more strongly when he has a speech. In the video he speaks just as he talks with his friends, which maks his speech boring to keep listening to.

  29. T3 Ayumi Ota November 17, 2015 at 09:46 #

I thought Sanjay was making his speech in a pretty good way, but at the same time I kind of got bored during the speech since it kept the same tone throughout the speech. I thought he needs more emphasis on important point of the speech to make it more interesting.

  30. Yuka Kurita T3 November 17, 2015 at 10:04 #

I think what is good about Sanjay’s speech is that he never stopped for the whole speech. He kept talking, so listners would not get bored. However, I think he put too much information. I sometimes got confused while listening to it. He should stay on topic in order to clarify his speech.

  31. naowakazonoT3 November 17, 2015 at 11:58 #

Sanjay’s speech was interesting. He explained his life till now very detailed, and I could understand what has made him what he is now. I think I got a good idea of what an icebreaker is. I thought he was great that he knew what made him; I think I can’t say what made me what I am now.

  32. Hiroyuki Hosokawa T3 November 17, 2015 at 12:20 #

I think his speech is not so interesting. First ,though interesting opening might be a challenge for ice-breaker speech, opening of his speech is too simple to attract audience. And he keeps talking in the same tone. That may make audience sleepy. Though it is difficult to continue talking for five minutes, it is certain that he has a lot to be desired.

  33. Rio Takane November 17, 2015 at 12:32 #

He was talking about his history in order and it was very very boring. I didn’t get the point. I coouldn’t find any of his efforts to make the speech sound interesting.
